Your guide to our services

Transparent pricing for all our services, including private fees, Medicare EPC plans, and DVA coverage

Our initial consultation is designed to provide a comprehensive diagnosis of your condition. This appointment is for new patients or existing patients who have not had an appointment with us in the last 3 years. If you’re unsure of your last visit, you can always call ahead, and our friendly reception team will be happy to check the date of your last appointment for you.

What to Expect During Your Initial Consultation

1.Thorough Health History Review

We start by reviewing your detailed health history, including any past injuries, chronic pain, medical conditions, and your lifestyle habits. This helps us identify underlying causes of your symptoms and determine how chiropractic care can best support your overall health.

Specific questions may include:

  • Where are you experiencing pain or discomfort?
  • How long have you had these symptoms?
  • Have you tried any previous treatments or medications?

2.Physical Examination

Next, we conduct a comprehensive physical exam to assess your musculoskeletal health. This typically includes:

  • Postural assessment: Evaluating your posture to identify any imbalances or misalignments.
  • Range of motion tests: Checking the flexibility and movement of your joints, especially your spine.
  • Palpation: Manually feeling for areas of tension, muscle tightness, or vertebral misalignments.
  • Neurological exam: Testing reflexes, nerve function, and muscle strength to rule out nerve-related issues.

Depending on your condition, we may also perform or refer you for specialised diagnostic tests such as:

  • X-rays (if needed) to visualise spinal alignment and any underlying structural issues. These will be bulk billed when possible at one of our trusted radiology clinics. In the unusual chance that your x-ray cannot be bulk billed we will let you know upfront.
  • Orthopaedic tests to check for joint dysfunction or injury.

3. Personalised Diagnosis

Based on the information gathered during your consultation and examination, our chiropractor will provide a a clear explanation of the next step or recommended course of action.

Our goal is not only to address your immediate pain or discomfort but also to improve your overall health and prevent future issues.

4. First Chiropractic Treatment

After your consult, we’ll perform your first chiropractic adjustment on the same day. This allows you to begin the healing process right away. Our chiropractor will explain each step of the adjustment to ensure you’re comfortable and confident in the care you’re receiving.

This visit is designed to review the results of your initial consultation and any diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, to provide you with a clear diagnosis and outline a personalised action plan for your treatment. In addition to discussing your results, we will also perform your second chiropractic adjustment during this appointment, helping you continue your progress toward better health.

Reviewing Your Results

During the Report of Findings appointment, we will sit down with you to thoroughly explain the results of your initial consultation and any X-rays or other tests we conducted. This is an important opportunity for us to ensure you fully understand your condition and the underlying causes of your symptoms. Our chiropractor will go over key details such as:

  • X-ray Results: If X-rays were taken, we will review the images with you, pointing out any areas of concern, including spinal misalignments, disc issues, or structural imbalances.
  • Diagnosis: Based on the findings from your physical exam and X-rays, we will provide you with a clear diagnosis. We will explain what is happening in your body, whether it’s related to spinal misalignments, nerve irritation, joint dysfunction, or another issue.
  • Cause of Symptoms: We’ll connect your diagnosis with the symptoms you’ve been experiencing, helping you understand how the underlying problem is contributing to your pain, discomfort, or mobility issues.

Developing Your Personalised Action Plan

Once we have explained your diagnosis, we will present a personalised action plan designed to address the root cause of your condition and promote long-term healing. This plan will include:

  • Recommended Treatment Schedule: We will outline how many chiropractic adjustments you may need and the frequency of your visits. This schedule is designed to progressively correct misalignments and restore optimal function to your spine and nervous system.
  • At-Home Exercises: In many cases, we will recommend specific exercises or stretches you can do at home to support your recovery and enhance the effectiveness of your chiropractic treatments.
  • Lifestyle Adjustments: We may also suggest changes to your daily routine, posture, or ergonomics to prevent future problems and promote overall wellness.

Our goal during this appointment is to ensure you feel confident and informed about your treatment plan, so we encourage you to ask any questions or raise any concerns.

Second Chiropractic Adjustment

In addition to discussing your findings and treatment plan, we will perform your second chiropractic adjustment during the Report of Findings appointment. This adjustment builds on the progress made during your initial visit, helping to further reduce tension, correct misalignments, and provide relief from discomfort.

  • Tailored Adjustments: Based on the results of your exam and X-rays, we’ll tailor the adjustment to your specific needs, ensuring that we address the areas of your spine and joints that require the most attention.
  • Patient Comfort: As always, our chiropractor will ensure you are comfortable and fully informed throughout the process, explaining each step of the adjustment so you know what to expect.

The re-examination appointment is an important part of your treatment journey. It allows us to assess your progress, adjust your care plan as needed, and ensure that you are on the right path toward achieving your health goals. This visit typically occurs after several treatment sessions and is designed to provide a comprehensive evaluation of your response to chiropractic care.

Review of Your Progress

During your re-examination, we’ll start by discussing how you’ve been feeling since your initial treatments. This is your opportunity to share any changes in your symptoms, improvements in your mobility, or any new concerns that may have arisen.

Physical Examination

  • Next, we will conduct a follow-up physical examination to evaluate your current musculoskeletal health. This typically involves re-assessing key areas that were addressed during your initial consultation and comparing your progress. The physical exam may include:
  • Posture assessment: Checking for any improvements or remaining imbalances.
  • Range of motion tests: Evaluating the flexibility and movement of your spine and joints.
  • Palpation: Feeling for areas of tension, muscle tightness, or spinal misalignments to determine if further adjustments are needed.
  • Neurological tests: If applicable, we may re-check your reflexes and nerve function to ensure that there’s no ongoing nerve irritation.
  • The purpose of the re-examination is to determine how your body is responding to chiropractic care and whether your symptoms have improved, worsened, or stayed the same.

Adjusting Your Treatment Plan

Based on the findings from the re-examination, we may recommend modifications to your treatment plan. This could include changes to the frequency of your chiropractic adjustments, adding new exercises to your at-home routine, or introducing other therapies that may support your recovery. Our goal is to ensure that your treatment continues to be personalized and effective as your body heals and adapts.

If you’ve made significant progress, we may begin to focus more on preventive care to maintain your spinal health and prevent future issues. On the other hand, if your progress has been slower than expected, we may take additional steps to address any remaining challenges.

Tracking Long-term Results

The re-examination also allows us to establish benchmarks for tracking your long-term results. By comparing your current condition to your initial state, we can clearly see the improvements you’ve made and identify any areas that still require attention. This helps us fine-tune your care plan to ensure you achieve the best possible outcomes.

Why the Re-examination is Important

The re-examination is a key part of the chiropractic process at Aaron Chiropractic. It ensures that your treatment is progressing as expected and that any necessary adjustments are made along the way.

At Aaron Chiropractic, we understand that life can sometimes get in the way of regular visits, which is why we offer a patient update appointment for existing patients who have not been to the clinic in over 6 months but less than 3 years.

This appointment serves as an opportunity to reassess your health, review any changes in your condition, update your medical history and reassess your current plan. It’s designed to ensure you receive the most effective and relevant care and advise based on your current health status.

Health Update and Review

The appointment begins with a discussion of your health since your last visit. You will be required to answer a short health history update. We’ll review any changes in your symptoms, lifestyle, or medical history that may impact your chiropractic care. Some of the key topics we’ll cover include:

  • New or recurring symptoms: Have you experienced any new pain, discomfort, or injuries since your last visit?
  • Previous treatments or therapies: Have you undergone any other medical treatments or therapies in the time you’ve been away?
  • Lifestyle changes: Have there been any changes to your work, exercise routine, or daily activities that could affect your spine or musculoskeletal health?

This conversation helps us get an up-to-date understanding of your current health and any factors that might have influenced your well-being during your time away from the clinic.

This appointment type is for patients aged 17 and older who have completed an Initial consultation and are continuing their chiropractic care as part of an ongoing treatment plan.

The Adjustment Process

After reviewing your health status, the chiropractor will proceed with your adjustment. The specific techniques used will depend on your individual needs, but generally, you can expect:

  • Spinal Adjustments: Our chiropractor will perform precise manipulations of your spine to correct any misalignments (also known as subluxations) and restore proper movement and function. These adjustments are typically quick, targeted movements applied to specific areas of your spine, aiming to relieve pressure on nerves, improve mobility, and reduce discomfort.

Our child regular adjustment appointments are designed for children aged 16 and under who have already completed their initial consultation. Regular chiropractic adjustments for children focus on supporting their growth, development, and overall wellness in a gentle and safe manner.

The Adjustment Process

During a child’s regular adjustment appointment, our chiropractor will ensure a calm and comfortable experience tailored specifically to their needs. The adjustment process for children is much gentler than for adults and involves light, precise movements to realign their spine and joints.
